Blade

Any number of air-foil-shaped vanes assembled around the periphery of a turbine rotor to guide the steam or gas flow. Turbine stages extract energy from this flow, lowering the pressure and temperature of the air, and transfer that energy to the turbine shaft. This process is similar to how an axial compressor works, only in reverse.

Compare to Axial Compressor.
