Butterfly Valve

A valve with a disk, called a “butterfly” element, that rotates perpendicular to the path of the fluid flow. Fluid flow through the valve is maximized when the disk lines up with the flow path and is completely blocked when the disk is rotated 90 degrees from the fully opened position.
