Centrifugal Compressor

Four-Stage, Straight-Through, Centrifugal Compressor

A dynamic compressor that works by transferring energy from a rotating impeller to a gas. Pressure is produced by converting angular momentum imparted by the rotating impeller into fluid momentum, which is subsequently converted into pressure by slowing down the gas flow. To do this efficiently, centrifugal compressors must rotate at higher speeds than other types of compressors.
