Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)

A method of evaluating project economics using time value of money concepts. All future cash flows are estimated and discounted by using cost of capital to determine their present values. The sum of all future cash flows, both incoming and outgoing, is the project’s net present value, considered to be the current value of the stream of cash flows generated by the project.
