Gearbox

A device that transfers input rotational motion to an altered output motion using a combination of gears; or a mechanical device using gears that receive rotational mechanical energy at some input speed and converts it to a different output speed and/or changes the direction of rotation. Gearboxes can be either speed increasers or speed reducers, depending on the requirements.
