Simple Cycle Gas Power Plant

A type of natural gas power plant that operates by propelling hot gas through a turbine to generate electricity. They differ from combined cycle gas plants because their waste heat exhausts to the atmosphere and is not supplied to another external heat engine. Commercial simple cycle gas turbines are robust, easy to operate, and reach efficiencies up to 40% at high power levels.
