Thermal Convection

The transfer of heat from one location to another by the movement of fluids, such as air or water. There are two types of convective heat transfer: free or natural convection, where fluid motion is caused by buoyancy forces that result from the density variations due to variations of thermal temperature in the fluid; and forced convection, where a fluid is forced to flow over the surface by using a fan or pump.
