Thrust Bearing
A bearing designed to support axial machine loads and locate the rotor or shaft axially. Thrust bearings can use either rolling elements or hydrodynamic films to support axial loads. Rolling element thrust bearing types are angular contact rolling element bearings, angular contact bearings with cylindrical elements, and cylindrical roller thrust bearings, while hydrodynamic thrust bearing types consist of tapered land thrust bearings, Kingsbury-type thrust bearings with self-leveling pads, and Kingsbury-type thrust bearings with spherical pad supports.
