Fourier Analysis

A mathematical field that studies how general mathematical functions can be represented or approximated by sums of simpler trigonometric functions. Machinery vibration data are often evaluated using Fourier analysis methods, which convert time-based vibration signals into the frequency domain plots called spectra.
