Angular Misalignment

The difference in the slope of one shaft, usually the moveable machine, as compared to the slope of the shaft of another machine, usually the stationary machine. The units for this type of misalignment are comparable to the measurement of the slope of a roof. Traditionally in alignment, the rise measures in mils and the run, or distance along the shaft, measures in inches.
