Bushing

An independent plain bearing inserted into a housing to provide a bearing surface for rotary applications; the most common form of a plain bearing; or a close-fitting support device used to restrict flow between two liquids, thermally isolate a hot liquid, support the rotating shaft, breakdown pressure, etc.; commonly made of carbon or Teflon.
