Cause Map

A logical block diagram representing a series of possible initial, intermediate, and final events, used by reliability professionals to determine the most likely cause(s) of an unwanted event or failure. The goal of a cause map analysis is to identify hidden, or latent, issues so that corrective measures can be taken to prevent the recurrence of an undesirable given event.
