Enthalpy

A thermodynamic quantity equal to the internal energy of the system plus the product of pressure and volume. The formula for the enthalpy of a thermodynamic system is:

H = U + pV

where H is the enthalpy of the system; U is the internal energy of the system; p is the pressure of the system; and V is the volume of the system.
