Flame Arrestor

A safety device designed to extinguish flames attempting to propagate that still allows gas vapors to pass freely through it. A flame arrestor functions by absorbing the heat from a flame front traveling at subsonic velocities, thus dropping the flammable gas to the air mixture’s temperature below its autoignition temperature.
