Floor Clearance (Vertical Pump)

The recommended clearance between a vertical pump’s suction bell and the basin floor. Typically, the pump manufacturer recommends a minimum clearance based on experience and testing. The clearance between the inlet bell and floor should be somewhere between 0.25D and 0.5D, where D is the diameter of the suction bell.
