Steam Turbine Hydraulic Governor

A rotational speed controlling device commonly employed on steam turbines. They are constructed primarily of hydraulic components, such as an internal oil pump driven by the governor’s drive shaft; a self-contained oil sump; and an oil sight glass to monitor the oil sump level. Internal control oil pressure is maintained with a relief valve-accumulator system.
