Piston

The moving component of reciprocating engines, reciprocating pumps, gas compressors, and pneumatic cylinders that is contained by a cylinder and fitted with gas-tight piston rings; or a cylindrical part that moves or reciprocates in a cylinder and transmits or receives motion to do work.
