Poka-Yoke

A Japanese term that means fail safe or error proofing. Originally aimed at avoiding product defects by eliminating operator error, the concept has been taken further to include examining potentially inherent equipment issues and putting “fixes” in place that serve to reduce the chance of breakdown or problems that impact functional performance.
