Bearing,  R

Radial Bearing

A bearing that supports loads acting perpendicular to the axis of the shaft. In an end suction centrifugal pump, it is the bearing located closest to the stuffing box that handles most of the radial loads put on the impeller. For compressors, a radial bearing is a bearing that supports forces, or loads, acting perpendicular to the axis of the compressor crankshaft or rotor shaft.
