Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD)

A temperature measurement device that works by passing a low-level current through a sensing tip and measuring the voltage drop. RTDs work on the principle that the change of electrical resistance of a material due to a change in temperature is predictable. A thermistor is a common type of RTD.
