Retirement (Machinery)

When a part, assembly, or complete machine has been repaired multiple times and can no longer be returned to manufacturer’s specifications, it must be scrapped. Parts and assemblies, such as reciprocating valves, transition pieces, and packing boxes, can only be refurbished a limited number of times before they must be discarded.
