Rim And Face Alignment
An alignment method in which one dial indicator is used to sweep the face of a coupling hub and another dial indicator is swept around the outside diameter of the coupling hub. This method is typically used when it is not possible to rotate both shafts or if there are space limitations. A disadvantage of this method is that the dial indicators must move over coupling hub surfaces. Hub flaws, such as surface defects or eccentricity, may lead to data collection errors.
