Skid (Machinery)

A motor-driven, reciprocating compressor mounted on a skid along with scrubbers, piping, and pressure pulsation dampeners.

A structural steel sub-base designed to support rotating machinery and auxiliary components, such as compressors, pumps, engines, scrubbers, instrument panels, piping, etc. Skids are designed for maximum rigidity to avoid alignment problems and minimal vibration but need to be designed with transportation and installation in mind.
