Space Heater
A small resistance heater mounted inside a motor housing to maintain the internal air above its dewpoint temperature during periods of motor inactivity. By using multiple heaters, the accumulation of water caused by moisture condensation inside the motor is prevented. Space heaters are recommended for applications in damp locations and should be automatically activated when the motor is de-energized. Space heaters are typically sized to maintain the temperature within the motor to approximately 9 to 18°F (5 to 10°C) above the ambient temperature.
