Steam Quality

A measure of the amount of saturated steam that coexists with condensate, or liquid water, in a steam supply flow. It is calculated by dividing the mass flow of steam by the total mass flow of the steam and condensate. A steam quality of 0 indicates the steam is 100% water, whereas a steam quality of 1 indicates the steam is 100% steam. It is desirable to supply steam turbines with steam of high quality and at or very close to 1.
