Synchronous Averaging

A means of reducing background noise in the spectra of complex signals by capturing numerous (8, 16, 32, etc.) waveform samples in succession and then analyzing them collectively. By triggering the capture of waveform samples with a keyphasor, asynchronous frequencies can be minimized in the resulting frequency spectrum.
