Throw (Reciprocating Compressor)

A single crank section of a reciprocating compressor, including a single connecting rod, crosshead and pin bushing, and a piston and rod assembly. Reciprocating compressors commonly have as few as one throw to as many as six throws, with some special units having as many as 10 throws on a single crankshaft and frame.
