Wellhead Compressor

As a natural gas production field matures, its reservoir pressure gradually declines, which leads to a corresponding drop in the field’s production rate. However, production rates can be maintained if the wellhead pressure can be reduced to make up for the loss in reservoir pressure. By installing a wellhead compressor near wells producing from an aging field, the backpressure for those wells can be reduced, thereby maintaining production rates.
