Envelope Dimensions

A set of exterior rotating machinery dimensions provided on a drawing by the original equipment manufacturer. Envelope dimensions assist equipment packagers, designers, etc., in the integration of rotating machines into an overall system. Most envelope dimension drawings include the location of equipment hold-down bolts, the location of the suction nozzle and discharge nozzle, and the elevation of the shaft centerline.
