C,  Centrifugal Pump,  Piping & Supports

Cross-Over Line

Fluid enters the pump at the suction nozzle (A). The fluid is fed through the first four impellers toward the center of the pump (B). Once the fluid exits the fourth impeller, it is redirected via a crossover (C) to the outside impeller at the opposite end of the pump. From there, the fluid is pumped through the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth impellers toward the pump discharge nozzle near (D).

An internal flow channel that directs flow from one section of a centrifugal pump to another to provide hydraulic balance in rotor designs with opposed impellers.
