Unbalance

The unequal radial weight distribution of a rotor system; a shaft condition in which the mass and shaft geometric centerlines do not coincide. Unbalance can be caused by manufacturing errors, assembly errors, fouling, thermal differentials, etc.

Also known as Imbalance.
